Pre-Order early. Lots of retailers put video games on offer before their release. Windows 7 operating system was 120 on many retailers’ sites, yet I managed to pre-order a copy from Tesco for 40 in a 2-day special promotion! This example can be applied to video games. Purchase second hand. Wait until your wanted game is released, then find someone selling it second hand. eBay is a great place to find such purchases. This can be an easy way to save 10 or more on a video game.

Many online stores have what’s called “promo codes”. Do a quick search on Google for the retailers name your looking to buy from with the phrase “promo codes” after it. Most retailers have some kind of promotion on, which you can take advantage of if you can find the promotion code.
